For the past day I’ve been trying to master Audacity (an audio recording program). And I think I’ve finally got it. Now I need to find inspiration. If you've got some... contributions are accepted in comment form.
I pictured having 5 days off school as being a wonderful chunk of time to get all my work done that I’ve been putting off, when all I’ve really done is messed up my sleeping pattern so I’m border-line nocturnal. And here I am, on Sunday, just starting all that work. Well, excluding debate. I've done that mother.
I never thought I could be so interested in an extra curricular where I have to spend hours researching things... but when I’m writing my case, I get so much inspiration when I picture what the other team might say against me, and I find a way to prove my imaginary opponents wrong. People have such inaccurate stereotypes about debaters. There are a lot of really cool people in debate that I would never have gotten to know otherwise. I remember when I told my neighbor that I had joined debate, she looked at me with a face of mock disappointment, "why did you do it honey? It’s social suicide...” I don't know if she's seen mean girl's or not, I don't really care where she got that from, but I'm so tired of people making such broad generalizations. Not all debate kids are pariahs. Not all theatre kids have an insatiable need for attention. Jocks can also be artists, and who knows? That seemingly nerdy girl who sits next to you in Biology might be a pole dancer.

Debate club, eh? Are you planning to become a lawyer or something? :)
Although I like debates, I do not like being part of it. I prefer writing expository essays over verbal debate, although I hate writing essays. I hate things that are structured. In debates, I just can't let out my thoughts clearly enough. I just mumble shit away.
And you need inspiration?
Dream is your best source. Dig into your unconsciousness and learn something new about yourself that you didn't know about. This can be done without smoking pot, I assure you. This is my way. I recommand you drink a few cups of coffee before you go to bed, when you are extremely sleepy. That night, you will dream. Metabolizing caffeine will put you into light sleep that allows you to remember what you dreamed when you wake up. The day after, you'll feel as if you didn't sleep at all and you'll feel very tired. Now, then grab your pen and paper and begin to write down your visualization.
I had some crazy dreams last two days. One is Quentin Tarantino styled epic and the other one is science fiction like one. Although the first one I mentioned is a nightmare, it was the coolest dream I have ever had in my life.
In terms of musical inspiration, I think My Bloody Valentine is the best. The music unfolds itself in a dreamy fashion and it's unbelievable.
Speaking of your audio program, how long can you record it at once?? One I have is a demo version that limits the recording time to 3 minutes. I hate it, but this is all I got.
